The Caminito del Rey is a 2.9-kilometer pedestrian walkway built into the vertical walls of a narrow gorge. The route consists of narrow paths and footbridges hanging up to 105 meters above the river bed. This secured hiking trail traverses a natural park characterized by dramatic landscapes and deep, narrow limestone gorges.

Construction of the path began around 1905 to provide access for workers and maintenance at local hydroelectric facilities. Over time, the infrastructure became a significant site of industrial and natural heritage. After being closed for over a decade due to safety concerns and its reputation as a dangerous route, the walkway underwent extensive restoration and officially reopened in 2015.

The path is a one-way route known for its historical infrastructure dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries. It is recognized as an Industrial and Natural Heritage Site. While the original path was once known as a challenging route, the modern installation provides a secured passage through the steep terrain and is open to the public for hiking.
