This national cultural monument originated in 1501, with architectural roots dating back to the 14th century. The structure evolved from a Renaissance castle into a Baroque and Neoclassical residence. In the early 20th century, the architect Dušan Jurkovič implemented significant updates, incorporating Art Deco, functionalist, and Art Nouveau elements into the historic fabric. The property is currently owned by the Bartoň family.
The site is open to the public, providing guided tours of its historically significant interiors. A prominent feature of the complex is the garden designed by Dušan Jurkovič, which contains a wooden bridge and a collection of Baroque sculptures from the workshop of Matthias Bernhard Braun, including a famous series of gnomes.
Beyond its historical architecture, the castle serves as a venue for cultural events and provides facilities for weddings and on-site accommodation.
