Two metro lines, Blue and Green, cross at this station which was designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira, one of the most famous contemporary architects of Portugal. Opened in 1998, this station also marks a dividing line between Lisbon's two renowned districts - Baixa and Chaido. Hence the name.
