Opened in 1916, the station is built in an Italian Neo-Renaissance style and it boasts beautifully decorated wooden roofs and stained glass windows.
Around 60,000 passengers use the station every day. It serves both long-distance trains and regional trains as well as the Eastern and Oriental Express luxury trains.
The station contains a food court with restaurants and coffee shops. There is no Wi-Fi, only a rather expensive Internet café.
