Dating back to the 19th century, the second busiest railway station was restored for the 1929 International Exhibition and then again for the 1992 Olympics. With its marble, bronze and crystal decorations, it is considered to be the most beautiful station in the city.
There are twelve tracks and seven platforms, many Renfe trains end here. Long distance trains to France, Switzerland or Italy leave from the station.
