Birkenfeld is a district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Its seat is the town of Birkenfeld. It is bounded by the districts of Sankt Wendel, Trier-Saarburg, Bernkastel-Wittlich, Rhein-Hunsrück, Bad Kreuznach and Kusel.
