Boracay is a resort island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It lies 0.8 kilometers off the northwest coast of Panay. Having a total area of 10.32 square kilometers, it is under the jurisdiction of three barangays in Malay, Aklan, which in 2015, had a population of 32,267. The island was administered by the Boracay Inter-agency Task Force during its six-month-long closure in 2018.
Apart from its white sand beaches, Boracay is also famous for being one of the world's top destinations for relaxation.
