Budatin Castle wasn't built on a hill, but on the confluence of two rivers, Kysuca and Vah. Its first historical mentiones date back to 13th century. Now it serves as a museum.
You can admire a permanent exhibition of wire-craft, a long tradition of this region, as well as the historical interior of the castle.
Budatin's surroundings include a park and a chapel which are also worth a visit. Chapel houses an exhibition and is free to enter.
