Cassaro is a town and comune in the Province of Syracuse, Sicily. The name is originally from the Arabic word القصر meaning "the castle." Cassaro is 52 kilometres from Ragusa and 35 kilometres west of the city of Siracusa. Cassaro has 859 inhabitants.
