Cathedral of Ávila

This fortified Gothic cathedral, which architectural purity is quite exceptional in Spain, is believed to be one of the two oldest Gothic cathedrals in the country. It holds the notable alabaster Altar of Santa Catalina. Be sure to check the beautifully ornamented facade.

It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1985.
