Dedicated to Saint Teresa of Calcutta, an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary, this Romanesque Revival cathedral was completed in 2017. It is recognized as the largest Catholic church in the region and stands as one of the tallest buildings in the country. The construction features extensive marble work and a modern interpretation of Italian religious architectural styles. A large organ, installed in 2021, is located within the interior.
The interior is decorated with stained glass windows. A prominent bell tower serves as a viewing platform, offering panoramic perspectives of the surrounding city. As a co-cathedral, the site serves a religious community that exists as a minority within the local population.
The cathedral is open to the public and functions as a center for significant cultural events and Christmas masses. Initial plans for the building were approved in 2007, and it has since become a major religious and architectural landmark.
