Designed by artists Kazuo Kikuchi and Kiyoshi Ikebe, this monument is devoted to Sadako Sasaki and all the child victims of the nuclear attack. Sadako, who died at the age of 12 of leukemia from radiation poisoning, is depicted at the top of the statue. The statue is surrounded by angels.
