This statue depicts the famous Italian poet, Dante Alighieri, who spent most of his life in this beautiful city. It was erected in the 19th century when the country was controlled by the Austrian Empire. Interestingly, to avoid any vast celebrations connected to the erection of this statue, it was installed discretely during the night.
