Formerly known as the Kodak Theatre, this establishment opened in 2001 and quickly became one of the most sought-after theatres in the world, as it hosts various popular prominent events, the most noteworthy one being the Academy Awards (the Oscars).
It was designed by David Rockwell, with the Oscars specifically in mind. Other events that took place here include the American Idol, Miss USA, the BET Awards, and various concerts from world-famous singers like Christina Aguilera, Adele, Andrea Bocelli, Neil Young or Beyonce.
Although you can take a tour of the theatre, bear in mind that it is subject to a busy schedule, and they are only available if there is no show happening at that moment.
You can come here either to experience the same atmosphere celebrities experience while walking the red carpet, or you can visit one of the numerous performances. Check the official website for more information. The place is right next to the metro station Hollywood/Highland (red line, number 802). Wheelchair and special seating is available for purchase through the box office.
