If you feel like taking a trip, hike up to this fortress for great views of the city, the sea and the Copacabana Beach. There's even a café where you can get some refreshments.

Built in 1779 as Fort of the Guard, the fort served as part of the defence strategy of the city. Its stone gate is still standing today. Because it is a former military complex, there are exhibits concerning Brazilian army on display.
