Fushimi Inari Shrine

This shrine is an important cultural and religious site dedicated to the kami Inari, associated with fertility, rice, agriculture, and foxes. It features thousands of bright vermilion torii gates that form winding pathways up the sacred Mount Inari. Established more than 1300 years ago, it represents a significant heritage site with a rich history deeply rooted in Shintoism.

The shrine is built in the architectural style known as nagare-zukuri, characterized by its elegant curved roofs. It holds a national monument designation and is recognized as a major cultural heritage site. Numerous fox statues, symbolic messengers of Inari, are also found throughout the grounds.
