Kawagoe is a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 February 2021, the city had an estimated population of 353,214 in 162,210 households and a population density of 3200 persons per km². The total area of the city is 109.13 square kilometres. The city is known locally as "Little Edo" after the old name for Tokyo, due to its many historic buildings.
