Latin Quarter

Quartier Latin is a traditional student quarter (many university buildings are located there - e.g. the Sorbonne University) that still retains its lively atmosphere. It got its name due to the ever present students who were taught many of their classes exclusively in Latin.

Whether you are looking for a place to eat or to see a show, this area has it all - hip bistros offering both local and international cuisines, many show venues, and also several historical sights such as Panthéon (where many important people of French origins are buried e.g. Victor Hugo, Jean-Jacques Rousseau or Voltaire) or the Luxembourg gardens.
