Luzerne County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The county has a total area of 906 square miles of which 890 square miles is land and 16 square miles is water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. It is Northeastern Pennsylvania's second-largest county by total area and Northeast Pennsylvania's most populous county, with a population of 325,594 as of the 2020 census.
The county seat of Luzerne County and the county's largest city is Wilkes-Barre. Other populous communities in the county include Hazleton, Kingston, Nanticoke, and Pittston.
