Every sports fan should definitely visit the MSG - one of the most famous sports arenas ever built. This multipurpose building is the venue for countless events either sports-oriented (basketball, ice hockey, wrestling etc.) or entertainment-oriented (e.g. concerts). It is also home to two well-known New York sports teams – New York Knicks (NBA) and New York Rangers (NHL).
It is, in fact, the fourth building of this name. The first two (built in 1879 and 1890) were located in Madison Square Park. The third one (built in 1925) was located on Eighth Avenue and the present-day one was built in 1968 and is located in Pennsylvania Plaza.
If you do not plan to see a sports match or a concert there, you can still visit Madison Square Garden during one of the daily tours. You get to see e.g. the VIP areas, the locker rooms and also get some interesting information about the arena and the players.
