Museum of Orsay

Originally a railway station, this Beaux-Arts building now houses one of the largest art museums in Europe. Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Édouard Manet and Claude Monet – this is only a handful of artists whose masterpieces are on display here.

Even if you aren’t an enthusiastic lover of art, this museum still has something to offer – you can try to find a painting of Whistler's Mother, which was destroyed by Mr Bean in the movie Bean or enjoy the beautiful view of Paris through the clock on the top floor of the museum.

Don’t forget to keep your ticket – you can get some discounts when visiting other famous sights in Paris, such as Gustave Moreau National Museum, Palais Garnier or Jean-Jacques Henner National Museum.

Please note that due to security reasons you cannot enter the museum with suitcases or backpacks and they also cannot be left in the cloakroom.
