The carillon of 35 bells is located in the tower and chimes three times a day - a reason for the tourists to gather at Mozart square.
Built in 1588, it was originally meant to accommodate guests. Nowadays, Salzburg Museum resides here.

Guided tours: March - October on Thu 5:30 p.m., Fri 10:30 a.m.

Dec 24 and 31: 9 am - 2 pm
Jan 1: 1 pm - 5 pm
The carillon plays at 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 6 p.m.
