This wide sandy beach is located in Sant Adrià de Besòs, approximately 30 minutes from the centre of Barcelona. The quality of the water was improved significantly and the beach has became a popular place for recreation. There are many useful facilities like toilets, showers, volleyball nets and playgrounds.
The three chimneys which are visible from every corner of the beach shouldn't scare you - they belong to Besòs power thermal station, which was closed in 2008, but the citizens of Sant Adrià have voted in a referendum that they want to keep them as a symbol of identity of the city.
