Thailand is home to Muay Thai, a unique form of box that allows kicking the opponent, as well as using elbows to attack. This stadium is one of the two main places in the country where you can experience true boxing fights in this style.
The project to build this stadium started in 1941. Only the foundations were laid before the WWII put a stop to all construction work, though. The building process was resumed in 1945 and in December of the same year, the first match was finally held here.
The stadium, which prides itself on being the oldest and greatest boxing stadium in Thailand, is most easily reached by taxi from the National Stadium Station. When inside, you can also visit the second floor, on which there is a busy gambling arena.
Mon, Wed, Thu, Sun: doors open from 6 pm.
The price of tickets varies between 1.000 and 2.000 THB.
