Royal Palace

Local namePalazzo Reale
LocationDuomo, Milan, Italy

The roots of the existence of the palace we see today go back to the Middle Ages when it served as a seat of the government of Milan. It gained major importance during the era of Napoleon when Milan was the capital city of the Kingdom of Italy and the palace was a seat of the viceroy.

During World War II, the palace was heavily damaged and had to undergo a long process of restoration. However, in the 21st century, it was turned into a museum that houses many interesting exhibitions of modern art. It is also a crucial cultural event venue.

Before your visit, be sure to check the official website to see which exhibitions are installed there at the moment. Depending on the exhibitions, the ticket prices may vary. The palace is just a short walk away from Duomo metro station (lines 1 and 3).
