This astonishing villa, which dates back to the 17th century, is a former estate of the Japanese emperor. It boasts beautiful and unique Japanese gardens that will take your breath away (especially if you come see them in autumn when the trees are beautifully colored). It is definitely one of the must-see places in Kyoto.
