Sitno

The ruins of Castle Sitno stand on the highest peak of the Stiavnice Mountains and offer a beautiful view. It was built in the 13th century where an ancient fortress had once stood. There are many legends and myths tied to this place, one of which says that old knights reside underneath the castle and when people living under Sitno find themselves in danger, the mountain opens up and releases its knights.
Sitno makes for a nice non-challenging hike from a nearby Pocuvadlo lake.
