Slaný is a town in Kladno District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 16,000 inhabitants. It is located about 25 km northwest of Prague. The town is part of the Prague metropolitan area. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.
