This is the centre of Dublin in many senses – it is a cultural centre, a financial centre and above all, it is the centre of Dublin's nightlife. If you want to taste the traditional Irish whiskey or get a pint of Guinness, this place is a must visit for you.
There are many pubs in the neighbourhood (among the best-known ones are e.g. Oliver St. John Gogarty’s, The Temple Bar Pub or the Palace Bar). Many pubs host live music and the atmosphere is usually very pleasant. However, due to the popularity of the place (mainly among the tourists), the most popular pubs might get crowded.
Apart from the pubs and bars, there are also many culture-oriented places (e.g. the Irish Film Institute, the Gallery of Photography or the Temple Bar Gallery). And there are also finance-oriented institutions located there (e.g. the Irish Stock Exchange or the Central Bank of Ireland).
With its beautiful atmosphere and so many things to do, Temple Bar is a place you should not miss.
