The Tokyo Stock Exchange, abbreviated as Tosho or TSE/TYO, is a stock exchange located in Tokyo, Japan.
The exchange is owned by Japan Exchange Group, a holding company that it also lists, and operated by Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of JPX. JPX was formed from merger of Tokyo Stock Exchange Group, Inc. with Osaka Securities Exchange Co., Ltd.; the merger process began in July 2012, when said merger was approved by the Japan Fair Trade Commission. JPX itself was launched on January 1, 2013.
Trading hours:
Mon – Fri: 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Visiting hours:
Mon – Fri: 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (last admission at 4 p.m.)
Closed on public holidays and New Year holidays.
English tours (Mon – Fri 1:30 p.m.) and participation in Stock Trading Game (Mon – Fri 2:30 p.m.) need to be reserved at least one day in advance.
No entrance fee.
