Consisting of three theme parks - Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal's Volcano Bay, a night-time entertainment complex Universal CityWalk and various hotels, Universal Orlando Resort is an attraction you cannot miss out on if you travel with children.
You should reserve a few days for visiting because there are a lot of things to cover. You can visit the Mardi Gras party taking place every day from February until April, see the Blue Man Group performing in the huge theatre, or ride on the countless rides and roller coasters. Harry Potter fans might want to try to escape from Gringotts bank. There are also hundreds of eateries all over the park, and you also have a lot of shopping options, mainly for souvenirs.
You need to purchase tickets for each theme park. The parking fee is $20 per vehicle, but you can opt for self-park, which is free after 6 PM. To get here by car from Downtown Orlando, take the I-4 West to exit 74B and then just follow the signs to get to the main parking garage.
Generally, the park opens at 9 a.m. and closes between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. - be sure to check the official website for specific date prior to your visit.
