If the game of baseball were to have a temple, the Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York, just might be it. This stadium was the most expensive stadium in the world at the time of its completion. It serves as the home turf of the New York Yankees, however, it also has a history of hosting games of soccer, as well as open-air concerts by popular performers such as Eminem or Madonna.
The stadium is reachable by subway (161st Street/Yankee Stadium Station), by train (the Metro North line) and by bus (East 161st Street bus stop). You may have trouble finding a parking spot if you choose to arrive by car. Also be prepared to go through a metal-detector check before entering the stadium. It is forbidden to bring in large bags, skateboards, confetti, as well as many other items.
All Yankee Stadium gates will open 1 1/2 hours prior to first pitch. It is recommended to buy the tickets in advance.
