Ruinas de Cagsawa

The site contains the remnants of a Franciscan church originally established in 1587. While the structure survived earlier attacks by Dutch pirates, it was largely destroyed during the major eruption of the Mayon Volcano in 1814. Historical records indicate the construction of a church building on the site in 1724.

Designated as a National Cultural Treasure, the ruins serve as a symbolic landmark of regional history and resilience. The grounds house the National Museum Cagsawa, which features exhibits on the area's heritage. The site is a frequent location for photography and ATV adventure tours, providing views of the nearby volcano.

The ruins represent the architectural remains of a colonial-era religious complex. The area is open for sightseeing and discovering the archaeological remnants of the church structure.
