Overlooking the Capitol Reflecting Pool, this bronze equestrian statue is dedicated to Ulysses S. Grant, who was a Civil War General and the 17th President of the United States. Erected in 1920, the memorial was dedicated two years later, marking the 100th anniversary of Grant's birth.
