This beautiful Gothic tower, which guards one end of the Charles Bridge, had not only defensive nature but it also had a ceremonial meaning. It was considered a victory arc for the coronation processions which were lead over Charles Bridge to the castle. Commissioned by Charles IV and built in 1380, this tower is now considered to be one of the greatest Gothic gems in Europe. The astonishing decorations were designed by Peter Parler.
Climb the stairs and learn about the history through an exhibition located inside the tower and admire the splendid view over Charles Bridge and its surroundings.
