Beskydy Protected Landscape Area Essentials

Spanning 1,160 square kilometers, Beskydy is the largest Protected Landscape Area in the Czech Republic. This selection features the region's highest peak, Lysá hora, and the iconic folk-art architecture of Dušan Jurkovič at Pustevny. The list covers diverse landmarks from the Byzantine-style chapel on Radhošť to the sandstone rock formations of Pulčín-Hradisko and the deep Satina waterfalls. These sites showcase the unique Wallachian culture, wooden religious architecture, and the rugged terrain of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids.
