Kittilä centers on the Levi resort, Finland’s largest ski area, but extends into the vast wilderness of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. The region features the 1831 C.L. Engel-designed wooden church, one of the few structures to survive the Lapland War. Natural highlights include the Aakenustunturi fell viewpoints, the Ruoppaköngäs rock formations, and the birdwatching tower at Akanrimpi.
