Pelagonia Essentials

Pelagonia encompasses the southwestern plains and mountains of North Macedonia, anchored by the city of Bitola and the ancient ruins of Heraclea Lyncestis. The region is home to Pelister National Park, characterized by the Golemo and Malo glacial lakes, and the tripoint waters of Lake Prespa. Architectural highlights include the 16th-century Gazi Hajdar Kadi Mosque and the 12th-century frescoes of St. George’s Church in Kurbinovo, alongside the high-altitude WWI battlegrounds of Kajmakčalan.
