Samoa's landscape is defined by volcanic activity and deep Polynesian heritage. Robert Louis Stevenson's tomb

Located atop Mount Vaea, this tomb marks the resting place of the Scottish author who spent his final years in Samoa. The site is accessible via a steep hiking trail starting from the writer's former residence at Villa Vailima.

Fagaloa Bay

Fagaloa is located on the north eastern coast of Upolu island in Samoa. The area is a significant region of conservation and culture.

blowholes

Also known as the Alofaaga Blowholes, these natural vents in the basalt rock propel seawater hundreds of feet into the air. Local villagers often throw coconuts into the vents to demonstrate the force of the water pressure.

Papase'ea

These natural rock formations create smooth, water-worn slides into freshwater pools. The site includes separate sliding areas for adults and children, surrounded by tropical forest near Apia.

Mu Pagoa

A rare coastal waterfall where the Lata River flows over a five-meter-high basalt cliff directly into the ocean. It is located near the village of Gautavai on Savai'i's southern coast.

Mauga Matāvanu crater

An active volcanic vent that erupted between 1905 and 1911, burying nearby villages in lava. Visitors can walk along the crater rim for views of the surrounding lava fields and the Savai'i coastline.

Return To Paradise

A white sand beach on the southwest coast of Upolu, named after the 1953 Gary Cooper film shot on location here. It is characterized by black volcanic rocks and coral reefs.

Sale’aula Lava Fields

A vast expanse of solidified lava from the 1905 eruption of Mt Matavanu. The site features the ruins of a Methodist church and the 'Virgin’s Grave,' a burial site untouched by the molten flow.

Piula Cave Pool

A freshwater spring pool located beneath the historic Piula Theological College. The crystal-clear water flows through two interconnected sea caves used for swimming and snorkeling.

Sopo'aga Waterfalls

A viewpoint overlooking a dramatic waterfall that plunges into a deep, forested gorge. The site also features a botanical garden with labeled native Samoan plants and traditional medicinal herbs.

Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

A landmark Catholic cathedral in Apia known for its intricate wood-carved ceiling, stained glass windows, and a blend of European and Polynesian architectural styles.

Pulemele'i Mound

The largest and oldest ancient structure in Polynesia, this tiered basalt pyramid dates back to approximately 1100–1400 AD. It stands 12 meters high on the Letolo plantation.

Apia Samoa Temple

The Apia Samoa Temple was the 24th constructed and 22nd operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Museum of Samoa

Housed in a colonial-era building, this museum displays artifacts related to Samoan culture, archaeology, and the islands' history under German and New Zealand rule.

Mount Silisili is the highest peak in Samoa and the Samoa Islands chain.
