Tasman Region Essentials

The Tasman Region encompasses diverse landscapes ranging from the golden granite coastlines of Abel Tasman National Park to the alpine basins of Nelson Lakes. Key highlights include the massive Archway Islands at Wharariki Beach and the 26-kilometer-long Farewell Spit. Inland, the region features the 176-meter-deep Harwoods Hole sinkhole and the Buller Gorge Swingbridge, the longest of its kind in New Zealand. The area is also home to Te Waikoropupū Springs, which contains some of the clearest freshwater ever measured.
