Designed by architect Daniel Rubio Sánchez and built between 1922 and 1925, this municipal market is a significant example of Neo-Arabic and Neo-Mudéjar architecture. The building features a single nave with a metal structure and is characterized by its exotic-inspired decoration. The identical facades on both sides display a horseshoe arch flanked by two large columns and a modernist grille at the base, while the interior is adorned with traditional tiles.
The market houses 48 stalls that maintain their traditional commercial activity, offering a variety of fresh food products. It serves as a location for a typical Malagueño lunch. The site is designated as a Cultural Heritage Site.
