The museum is housed in the Eggahuus, a 16th-century structure that is among the oldest buildings in the region. It documents the cultural history and settlement of the Walser people, including their traditional farming practices and the preservation of the unique Walser dialect.
Exhibits also trace the development of local tourism in the valley. As a designated Cultural Heritage Site, the institution serves as a memory institution for the history and folklore of the Schanfigg area. The museum is open to the public.
