L'Independence Seaport Museum est un musée consacré à l'histoire maritime de Philadelphie, en Pennsylvanie et à la vallée du Delaware. Il se trouve sur le complexe de Penn's Landing le long du fleuve Delaware. Il fut fondé en 1961 par J. Welles Henderson.
Il possède plusieurs navires, dont deux National Historic Landmark :
le croiseur protégé USS Olympia,
Open daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Summer Hours (2015): between Memorial Day and Labor Day the Historic Ships will be open until 7:00 PM on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The museum offers plenty of tours for adults, students, overnight programs and river tours. See the website for concrete times and pricings.
Closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
