A beautiful hill-top sanctuary with a peculiar zigzag-shaped stairway leading to it, adorned with gorgeous fountains. There are 600 steps in total and the devoted pilgrims sometimes climb these stairs on their knees. It is one of the most photographed places in Portugal and it is definitely worth a visit.
