Lednice-Valtice UNESCO Landscape

The Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage site spanning nearly 300 square kilometers. Centered around the Neo-Gothic Lednice Château, the area features a network of English-style parks and romantic architectural follies. Key structures include a 60-meter-high Moorish Minaret, the Empire-style Temple of Apollo overlooking the Mill Pond, and the Border Château, which historically marked the boundary between Lower Austria and Moravia. These landmarks are connected by scenic trails and ponds designed by the House of Liechtenstein.

Lednice Château

A romantic chateau placed in UNESCO protected area of beautiful parks.

Minaret

Built around the year 1800, the minaret now serves as an outlook tower and makes an excellent walk destination from Chateau Lednice.

Apollonův chrám

An Empire-style temple built between 1817 and 1819, featuring a relief of the god Apollo on his sun chariot. It serves as a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Mill Pond.

Rybniční zámeček

A Classicist-style lodge built between 1814 and 1816 by architect Joseph Kornhäusel. Located on the banks of the Middle Pond, it originally served as a base for waterfowl hunting.

Hraniční zámeček

Built in 1827, this Classicist château was constructed directly on the former historical border between Moravia and Lower Austria. It historically served as a symbolic bridge between the Lednice and Valtice estates.
