Udaipur’s historic water management system is showcased through these diverse reservoirs and viewpoints. Lake Pichola, dating back to 1362, serves as the city's centerpiece with its island palaces, while the adjacent Dudh Talai and Sunset Point offer elevated views of the City Palace complex. The collection extends to the secluded Purohito Ka Talab, known for its red stone architecture, and Dhebar Lake, one of India’s largest 17th-century artificial freshwater bodies featuring ornate marble cenotaphs.

Lake Pichola

An artificial fresh water lake created in 1362 AD, housing four major islands: Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir, and Arsi Vilas. The lake was significantly expanded by Maharana Udai Singh II during the 16th century.

Sunset Point

An elevated viewpoint situated on a hill near Dudh Talai. It provides panoramic perspectives of Lake Pichola, Jag Mandir, and the City Palace. The area is accessible via the Karni Mata ropeway or through the musical fountain garden.

Purohito Ka Talab

A freshwater reservoir located 12 kilometers from Udaipur, surrounded by the Aravalli Range. It is characterized by its red sand and traditional masonry, earning it the local nickname 'Mini Jaisalmer'.

Dhebar Lake

Also known as Jaisamand Lake, this massive reservoir was commissioned by Maharana Jai Singh in 1685. The dam features six marble cenotaphs, a Shiva temple, and provides a habitat for various migratory birds.
