Fiordland Wilderness Huts
Fiordland National Park's vast wilderness is supported by a network of Department of Conservation (DOC) huts and private lodges. These structures range from large, multi-bunk facilities on Great Walks like the Kepler Track to remote, 12-bunk backcountry huts on the challenging Dusky and Hollyford Tracks. They provide essential shelter from the region's high rainfall and serve as strategic bases for traversing alpine passes, exploring glacial valleys, and accessing remote coastal sounds.
A Luxmore Hut
Located on the Kepler Track at 1,085 metres, this large hut provides 54 bunks and panoramic views over Lake Te Anau and the Murchison Mountains.
B Brod Bay Shelter
A lakeside rest area on the Kepler Track situated on the shores of Lake Te Anau, serving as a campsite and the starting point for the ascent to Mt Luxmore.
Homer Hut
A New Zealand Alpine Club hut located near the Homer Tunnel. It serves as the primary base for mountaineers and rock climbers exploring the Darran Mountains.
Okaka Lodge
