Opatija’s architectural landscape reflects its history as a premier 19th-century Austro-Hungarian health resort. Maiden With a Seagull

Sculpted by Zvonko Car in 1956, this bronze statue is the primary symbol of Opatija. It stands on a rocky promontory along the Lungomare promenade, replacing the older 'Madonna del Mare' statue.
