Alpine Huts & Mountain Shelters

This collection features essential mountain huts across the Tatra, Orava Magura, and Beskid ranges, situated between 1,000 and 1,400 meters above sea level. These sites include the largest shelter in the Polish Tatras at Polana Chochołowska and historic bases like Markowe Szczawiny on the slopes of Babia Góra. Facilities range from modern lodges with card payments to basic shelters equipped with fireplaces, providing necessary support for high-altitude trekking and winter sports.

Schronisko PTTK na Polanie Chochołowskiej

The largest mountain hut in the Polish Tatras, situated at 1,146 meters in the Chochołowska Valley. It serves as a major base for Western Tatra trails and is historically significant for hosting Pope John Paul II.

Bacówka PTTK na Krawcowym Wierchu

A traditional wooden mountain hut located at 1,038 meters on the Hala Krawcula meadow in the Saybuscher Beskids. It offers views of the Slovak mountains and the Tatra range.

Schronisko PTTK Markowe Szczawiny

Located at 1,180 meters on the northern slope of Babia Góra. The original 1906 structure was replaced in 2009 by a modern building that accepts credit and debit cards.

Ťatliakova chata

Situated at 1,393 meters in the Roháčska Valley near the Ťatliakovo pleso lake. It functions as a seasonal buffet and rest point for hikers entering the Roháče peaks.

Chata na Kubínskej holi

Located on the southern slopes of the Orava Magura range, below the summit of Kubínska hoľa. It provides year-round accommodation and dining near the local ski resort.

Chata Zverovka

A mountain lodge at an altitude of 1,020 meters in the Zverovka area. It serves as a central starting point for hiking trails into the Roháče and Western Tatras.
