The Pirin Mountains near Sandanski offer diverse hiking trails through a UNESCO World Heritage site. This selection features high-altitude glacial lakes like Tevno Ezero, situated at 2,512 meters, and the deep Kremenski Lakes. The list includes the 12-meter Popina Laka waterfall and the 20-meter Skoka waterfall near Kashina. Hikers can utilize the Pirin Hut, a key base at 1,640 meters, to access the southern and central ridges of the mountain range.

Pirin Hut

Located at 1,640 meters in the Pirin National Park, this two-story building serves as a primary base for trails toward Tevno Ezero and the Melnik region.

Popina Laka

A 12-meter-high waterfall on the Bashliitsa River, located 18 kilometers from Sandanski in the Popina Laka resort area.

Skoka

Also known as the Kashina Waterfall, this 20-meter drop is located on the Hotovska River near the village of Kashina.

Frog lake

A glacial lake in the Banderitsa circus situated at 2,322 meters above sea level, known for its significant population of tadpoles.

Tevno ezero

One of the highest glacial lakes in the Pirin Mountains, located at 2,512 meters in the Belemeto circus, featuring a nearby mountain shelter.

Golemo Valavisko ezero

The largest of the Valyavishki Lakes, this glacial lake is situated at an elevation of 2,300 meters and is surrounded by granite peaks.

Kremensko ezero

Part of the Kremenski Lakes group, these glacial bodies are among the largest and deepest in the Pirin range.
